The 20th Annual Osborne Brothers Hometown Festival in Hyden, Kentucky is just around the corner and will be August 1st through August 4th!  Bobby and the Rocky Top X-Press will be there August 2nd and 3rd!

It’s a big line up for this milestone year that will also feature Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Marty Raybon, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, the Lonesome River Band, so don’t miss it!

Bobby and the band will be headed for New Enterprise, Pennsylvania at the Southern Cove Bluegrass Festival!

More tour dates!  Bobby and the boys at the Gatlinburg Inn in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on Friday May 31st!  Then they will make their way up to the Lincoln County Bluegrass Festival in Hamlin, West Virginia on Saturday June 1st!  Make sure to mark your calendars to come out and have a good time with us!

Nashville, TN (November 19, 2012)  Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce legendary Grand Ole Opry star Bobby Osborne is the featured artist on the Behind the Dream™ TV show.  Part 1 debuts on BlueHighways TV November 29, 2012 at 8:30 PM (EST) with additional air dates listed below.  Part 2 will air later in December.  This special program is hosted by Mike Scott who is joined by featured guest hostGlen Duncan.  Fans will certainly want to tune in to hear Bobby share many stories about his past and present career that spans over 60 years as one of the most influential singers and mandolin players in the history of Bluegrass and Country music.

Nashville, TN (May 16, 2012)  Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce the
May 22, 2012 album release, NEW BLUEGRASS & OLD HEARTACHES by BOBBY OSBORNE & THE ROCKY TOP X-PRESS.  The album was produced by Glen DuncanBobby Osborne and Boj (Bobby Osborne, Jr.) and contains new and old songs that will surely delight Bobby’s fans worldwide and celebrate his impressive 60 year career.

Highlights from NEW BLUEGRASS & OLD HEARTACHES include the first single release, “I’m Going Back To The Mountain” written by Jake Landers who also penned “The Old Oak Tree.”  A newly recorded “Muddy Waters” written Phil Rosenthal is certainly another stand out track as well.  The song was originally intended for release on the Osborne Brothers last Decca Records album in the early 70’s, but never released. Other highlights include a wonderful rediscovered song Bobby wrote many years ago titled “The Last Bridge You’ll Ever Burn” plus a newly written anthem type song titled “Born In Kentucky”.

BOBBY OSBORNE is an American Music Legend.  From his first recorded hit in 1949, to his membership in The Grand Ole Opry in 1964, to “Rocky Top” in 1967 –BOBBY OSBORNE has been one of the most influential singers and mandolin players in the history of Bluegrass and Country music.  He was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2002, inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Hall of Fame (Lonesome Pine Fiddlers) in 2009, and has recorded two State songs – “Rocky Top (Tennessee)” and “Kentucky” (Kentucky).
BOBBY OSBORNE & THE ROCKY TOP X-PRESS have a previous album on the Rural Rhythm Records label titled MEMORIES:  Celebrating Bobby’s 60th Anniversary as a Professional Entertainer.  The album certainly showcases Bobby’s one-of-a-kind lead vocals and that familiar sound of the legendary Osborne trio.
